2022 Awards & Scholarships

The following Awards and Scholarships are open for an expression of interest at present.

The allocation of these Award is intended to be early December but can be extended at the discretion of the selection committee dependent on secondary study and tertiary acceptance dates.


WALLY BRADLEY AWARD

The Wally Bradley Award is a joint venture of the Encounter Bay Rotary Club and the Fleurieu Community Foundation. The Award supports young people aged 16-19 from the Victor Harbor area who are experiencing difficulty in continuing or commencing study or training due to financial hardship or disadvantage. The award focuses on young people who have shown initiative, strength and commitment in pursuing their educational and training goals.

 

FLORENCE WILCKENS AWARD

The Florence Wilckens Award for Young Performing Artists has been established by the family and relatives of Florence Wilckens, and is managed by the Fleurieu Community Foundation. The award aims to support senior school students in the Fleurieu region to further their studies in the performing arts, music or dance, and who show initiative and commitment in their field of interest, but who may be experiencing difficulty in continuing their studies, or accessing other education or training, due to hardship or disadvantage.

 

VAL BALL AWARD

The Val Ball Award is a joint venture of the Strathalbyn Rotary Club and the Fleurieu Community Foundation.

The Award aims to provide support to young adults aged 17 to 25 years, who are living in the Strathalbyn district or have a close association with the old Strathalbyn Council area. 

The Award’s main purpose is to support young adults who show initiative and commitment in undertaking education or training in Agriculture, Horticulture or Viticulture, but who may be experiencing difficulty in continuing their studies or accessing other education or training due to hardship or disadvantage.

 

DAVID DRIDAN AWARD

The David Dridan Award is a joint venture of the Strathalbyn Rotary Club and the Fleurieu Community Foundation.

The award’s main purpose is to support young adults who show initiative and commitment in undertaking education or training in any area of the Arts.

 

YANKALILLA DISTRICT YOUNG ADULT AWARD

The Yankalilla District Young Adult Award has been established as a partnership between the Yankalilla Community and the Fleurieu Community Foundation. The Award aims to provide support to young adults aged 18 to 21 years, who are living in the Yankalilla District Council area or have a close association with the Yankalilla District Council area. 

The Award’s main purpose is to support young adults who show initiative and commitment in their field of education or training but who may be experiencing difficulty in continuing their studies or accessing other education or training due to hardship or disadvantage.

 

COLIN SIBLY AWARD

The Colin Sibly Award has been established to support young people who are living in the Victor Harbor area, or who have a close association with the Victor Harbor area.

The Award supports young people aged 16 - 20 years of age who are fulfilling a caring role within their immediate or extended family, who show initiative, strength and commitment in pursuing their life goals but who may be experiencing difficulty in continuing studies, or accessing education due to the caring role they fulfil.

There may be multiple small Awards disbursed during the year dependant on need.

 

DIVERSITY & INCLUSION GRANT

This Grant has a specific focus on Disability & Inclusion with the grant streams including -

  • Financial support for of post-secondary study or training for a person living with a disability.

  • Financial support for a person who is actively working in the Disability sector to further their personal or professional understanding of inclusion.
