Yankalilla District Young Adult Award

The Fleurieu Community Foundation recently joined with members of the Yankalilla community to launch the Yankalilla District Young Adult Award.
The Award is a new grant steam established by the Fleurieu Community Foundation in partnership with the Yankalilla Community. The Award has a specific focus on the Yankalilla area and compliments existing awards in other areas of the Fleurieu. The Award aims to provide support to young adults aged 18 to 21 years, who are living in the Yankalilla District Council area or have a close association with the Yankalilla District Council area.
The Award’s main purpose is to support young adults who show initiative and commitment in their field of education or training but who may be experiencing difficulty in continuing their studies or accessing other education or training due to hardship or disadvantage.
The Fleurieu Community Foundation has allocated $5,000 towards the new award from its existing financial resources and is actively partnering with the Yankalilla community to raise an additional $5,000 before the first grant is made.
It is hoped this is an exciting new phase in the development of grants to address disadvantage on the Fleurieu.
