Cricket Legend Les Burdett entertains

FCF Deputy Chair, Brad Butler and genius curator Les Burdett with the framed and signed Adelaide Oval picket auctioned for $1000The Fleurieu Community Foundation held its annual fundraising event - a Gala Sports Night Dinner at the Goolwa Aquatic Club with SA cricket identity, Les Burdett as guest speaker.

More than 60 people heard Les describe some of his career highlights as Manager of the famous Adelaide Oval, and of his long-term friendships with many cricket greats. Les also bought along a picket from the historic Adelaide Oval fence, signed and framed and with its own unique story, which was auctioned on the night. It raised $1000 after some intense bidding.

The Foundation raised around $3,500 through the event, which will help support charitable projects in the community. The Foundation thanks all those who attended the dinner, and the local businesses that contributed to the evening's success.
