2013 Quiz Night - The Wally Bradley Cup

A great turn out to the Foundation's joint quiz night with Encounter Bay Rotary on Friday night, with around 120 people braving the chilly weather to vie for the Wally Bradley Cup and some serious fun at the Encounter Bay Football Club.

What a successful night, with just under $2000 raised for the Wally Bradley Award (supportig local young people to realise thier education or training goals) and other worthwhile local projects.

Thankyou to all who attended and supported the event - to local business for thier generous support in once again donating such wonderful prizes, to the EBFC for providing the venue and hosting the bar to warm the heart and lubricate the brain, and of corse to the Rotary Club of Encounter Bay. Special shout out to Board Director Peter Lewis, Quiz Master extraordinaire and Rotarian Mike Kelly for keeping on top of the scoring.

Early Bird tickets $75 p/p are now avaiable until July 14 - thats a saving of up to $10 p/p.

Rotary Club of Yankalilla supports Stay In Sport

We had a welcome suprise at today's Board meeting when Don Law from the Rotary Club of Yankalilla joined us and presented a cheque for $1000 to Foundation Chair, Peter Hanlon.

The cheque will go towards the Stay In Sport Program and is greatly appreciated as $1000 goes quite a way in providing support to disadvantd young people in our community. Thankyou to the small, but very enthusiastic Rotary Club of Yankalilla for your support.

Congratulations to Stay In Sport Recipients - Winter 2013

This round of SIS is providing $850, to support 17 young people to remain engaged in sport and connected to their communities.

Since the program began a little over a year ago, the Fleurieu Community Foundation's Stay in Sport Program has provided support to 55 young people from 9 clubs across the region, providing $2,750 towards compulsory fees and uniforms etc. This amount has ben matched by the clubs to help support junior players.

Yes, the Wally Bradley Cup - a joint fundraising event hosted by the Foundation and the Rotary Club of Encounter Bay will be taking place again this year so please keep the date free.

When: Friday 21 June at 7pm for 7.30 pm start

Where: Encounter Bay Football Club Rooms

What: A fun event for family and friends, vie for the Wally Bradley Cup and many more prizes and giveaways, the launch of the 2nd round of the Wally Bradley Education Award.

How: Pay $10 per person, make up a team of up to 8 people or join other to make up a team on the night, BYO plate of supper to share, drinks at the bar - start training the grey matter now!
